ClawBud vs Claude Duet: Runtime Choice, Access and Review

Reviewed October 25, 2026. This comparison is published by ClawBud. It combines current official product documentation with ClawBud’s documented setup; it is not a hands-on speed or accuracy benchmark.

ClawBud is a candidate when you need a managed agent environment with supported runtime options and visible computer work. Claude Duet is a candidate for eligible Claude users who want a proactive assistant using their existing context. Availability is an immediate filter before either product’s features matter.

What Claude Duet offers today

The Claude Duet help page describes a US research preview for invited Pro and Max users, with shared plan limits. It carries over Claude context and connections, works on a cloud computer, prepares briefings and requests approval for consequential actions. The documented limitations include no model choice and no ability to watch or take over its browser. Team and Enterprise access is not yet included.

The product page positions Duet around continuing work and returning results for review. That may suit a professional who already uses Claude. We have not performed a side-by-side task benchmark, and preview scope may change.

What ClawBud gives you

ClawBud is a managed environment for running supported agents on a private cloud computer assigned to your account. The dashboard brings agent work, browser access, connected tools and operating controls into one place. It is a practical option when the work needs an operated runtime and you want to choose among supported agent tools instead of maintaining the host yourself.

The account boundary matters. Agents in the same account can share the VM, gateway, files and provider credentials. Giving two agents different names does not create two isolated machines. If one worker must not see another worker’s data, confirm the actual configuration and any additional isolation before connecting those accounts.

ClawBud’s monthly plans currently start at $20 for BYOK, with Starter at $39, Pro at $79 and Business at $169. Model-provider usage and optional add-ons can cost extra. The five-day trial includes 5,000 credits and requires a card; the first month is charged automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends. Check current pricing and checkout terms before subscribing.

Where ClawBud has a practical advantage

If choosing a supported runtime or inspecting the working computer is a requirement, put ClawBud on the shortlist. These are useful requirements for teams that need to see where a browser workflow stopped or that already maintain instructions for a particular agent. Verify the actual runtime’s access and intervention controls before adopting it.

For a buyer outside Duet’s current access criteria, ClawBud can also be evaluated without assuming access to the Duet preview. Check ClawBud’s own signup, supported services and payment availability for your location; a comparison page is not a promise of universal availability.

When Claude Duet deserves the first trial

An eligible Claude subscriber may find existing memory and connections a useful starting point. If Duet completes the work with manageable review and its limits cover the workload, there is no reason to add another platform solely to increase the number of tools. A fixed model can also simplify a team’s evaluation if runtime choice is not important to that team.

Test the exception, not just the morning brief

Use a test mailbox with invented invoices. Request a list of unpaid items with links to the source records and draft reminders. Introduce an ambiguous company name and require the assistant to ask before choosing a recipient. Check that a draft remains unsent until approval and that a changed invoice status is read before sending.

Score the accuracy of the source links, the handling of ambiguity and the ease of recovering a blocked task. Track what consumed usage, including background work. The purpose is to establish your team’s fit; it is not to manufacture a universal winner. Continue with the agent management guide or compare other options in our comparison hub.
